Nicholas (Nick) Andrew Scherer was born on May 4th, 1982 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He passed away unexpectedly at home on December 27, 2018. Nick graduated from Waynesville High School in 2000 and attended Western Michigan University. He recently received his certification as a CNA.

Nick had many titles; he was the jokester, the dependable, the sweetheart, a son, a brother, a nephew, a grandson, an uncle, and an amazing human. Nick was knowledgeable in all things sports and politics. He spent a lot of his free time researching into his hobbies and spending time with his family when he wasn’t watching sports. Nick was always the first to offer a helping hand and he enriched everyone’s life with countless smiles. Nick always expressed his love for Colorado and the mountains.

Nick is survived by his mother LeeAnn (Blankenbaker) Scalia, brother Thaddeus (Tad) Scherer and his wife Crimson Scherer, sister Britt Smith and her husband Ian Smith, nieces Caprilynn, Mya and Jacqueline, aunt Debbie and uncle Bill Mercer, cousin Angela Reardon, grandmother Ida Blankenbaker, father Dale Scherer, extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gaylord Blankenbaker and his favorite pup, Chauncey.

Remember Nick in the gifts he left in our hearts and the smiles he placed on our souls. He was a good person and a great man. He will be missed dearly.
