Mike was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 25, 1957 where he lived his entire life . He passed on December 18, 2018 with his family by his side.

He attended Ivywild Elementary, South Junior High, Palmer and Cheyenne Mountain High Schools in Colorado Springs.

After maintaining some of El Paso County's most challenging roads for the last 17 years, Mike retired on November 1, 2018 from El Paso County Department of Transportation.

Mike loved going on road trips and being outdoors, whether it was in the mountains fishing  or in the backyard.  His favorite thing was to attend his grandkids school and sporting events,  He enjoyed watching sports especially car racing, the Broncos and the Rockies, but most of all Mike loved being with his family. 

Michael was proceeded in death by his brother James R. Hawley.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Morgan), two children, Morgan (Nicole) Hawley and Raeann Hawley, two grandchildren Morgan Rosemarie and Xavier Lee, both of his parents Don And Evelyn Hawley, his brother Don (Chris) Hawley, two sisters Corrine Stephens and Tina (Ken) Canaday and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
