Obituary for Laurl Lorraine Turner

Lorraine, also know as Lainey, was a lifelong Colorado native. She grew up in Fountain, Colorado where she graduated High School.

Robert and Lorraine were married May 17, 1947. They had seventy-two beautiful years together.

Lorraine enjoyed traveling, crocheting, crafts, camping and many outdoor activities. She loved spending time with her family. She traveled extensively throughout Colorado and the Four Corners Region with her Eagle Family.

Lorraine was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #143 Auxiliary for 53 years. She donated countless hours of her time for charity. One of her many accomplishments was to receive the Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Auxiliary International Hall of Fame Award. Lorraine was known for her kind heart, quick wit and sense of humor.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Bob Turner; five children, Doug (Valita) Turner, Joyce Capps, Gary Turner, Joel (Jennifer) Turner, Jeff (Debbie Turner); her sister Karen Lenear; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Loretta Higbee; brothers Sonny and Harold Higbee; sisters Ethel Joy Higbee and Dona Chacon; son-in-law Stan Capps and great-grandson Layne David Slater.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #143, 1050 S. 21st Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #143 Auxiliary, Heart or Breast Cancer Fund.
