On Monday, May 6, 2019, at 6:38 PM, MST, from the hospice 6th floor at Penrose Hospital, on North Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado, my dear precious wife, Joyce, of just over 39 years, left us after saying goodbye to myself, my boys, my daughter in law, grandsons, her brother and sister in law. She is blessed to travel to unimaginable heights, to be with our wonderful Lord, Christ Jesus, who has promised to us eternal life by simply trusting in Him. Joyce was alert enough, in the morning, prior to being given medication to help her breath better, to respond to all of us, as she was leaving, so we all could fully express how much we love her and give her the best possible huggie.

Joyce was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 24,1945 to her parents, William and Norma Clemens. Joyce was the youngest child, and grew up along the side of her brother Wayne. Joyce married Carl Freeman, who she met in sunday school, on April 12, 1980. Together they raised two sons, Brian and David.

Joyce is survived by her husband, sons Brian (Jeanie) and David, brother, Wayne (Patty) Clemens, grandsons, Parker and Blake Freeman, and various relatives located throughout the country.

I initially took Joyce to the emergency room on Monday, March 25, 2019, related to pains she was experiencing. After various trips back and forth to home and appointments and back to Penrose Hospital, she left us on Monday, May 6, 2019, 42 days later after initial onset of conditions caused by a malignant, metastasized stomach tumor. Joyce went through some very trying times, in and outside of the hospital, with pains and physical exhaustion. Dealing with cancer of the stomach and various abdominal organs is a rough road to go down. I am thankful and forever grateful for the Lord to have allowed me to have had such a wonderful wife. She was my best friend and the greatest mother for our boys.

Joyce always caught more fish than I did. She always enjoyed going camping and traveling around the country in our camper, eager to go skiing when we first met, a great house keeper and a manager of her household with distinction. To me, she fully measures up to the standard of Proverbs 31:10-31.

I want to thank the various doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers at both Memorial Hospital on Boulder Street and Penrose Hospital on North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs for their medical support and professionalism in helping Joyce and family through a very difficult number of weeks. Thank you to all who I interfaced with.
