Obituary for Frances Helen Reese

Frances Reese was born to Theodore and Esther Hill on July 11, 1929 in Hadley, Minnesota. On Jun 13, 1951 she was united in marriage to Wilfred B. Reese.

Fran is lovingly remembered by her son Timothy and wife Teresa of Colorado Springs; daughter Mary Beth and Husband Mike of Colorado Springs; her five grandchildren, Manuel, Cortney (Richard), Michael (Yolanda), Chance, and Andrea; nine great-grandchildren, Reiley, Trevor, Taylor, Mya, Jordyn, Aaliyah, Hayden, Liam, and Carter; sisters-in-law Saundra Hill, Florence Reese, and Debbie Reese; brother-in-law Berle Boese; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

After high school, Fran attended and graduated Teacher’s Training School. She subsequently taught in a rural (K-12) school for 3 years. She was married shortly thereafter and moved to Louisiana while Wilfred was serving in the Air Force. After this tour, she moved to Colorado Springs where she spent the remainder of her life.

Fran worked as a teaching paraprofessional for 15 years in Colorado Springs School District 11. During this time, she also volunteered at church and school, taught Sunday school, taught Confirmation classes, and taught the Bethel Bible Series of classes.

Fran was a charter member of Mount Calvary Lutheran church, dating back to 1958. She truly enjoyed working with, and being part of the growth of the church. She was a true witness to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Fran lost her husband, Wilfred, in 2000, but never forgot his love and faith in Jesus Christ.

Fran passed away at the Mt. Saint Francis Care Center on April 29. She will be missed by family and by friends throughout the church and community. She leaves behind loving memories, an infectious smile, and so much love to so many people. She had so many wonderful people in her life who she loved dearly.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
