Obituary for Byron Lee Gibson

Byron Gibson age 56, resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sunrise was March 14th, 1962 in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany and Sunset was December 25th, 2018 in Winter Park, Colorado.

He worked as a professional van operator for Golden Van Lines with Atlas for many years. He received numerous safe-driver and superior achievement awards. He was a great man who loved unconditionally and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He was an all-around sports fan but was the #1 New York Giants fan.

He is survived by his spouse, Irmela Torres, together for 19 years; Duck Chon Gibson (mother); Rose Gibson Kennedy (sister); Thomas Gibson Jr.; (brother), Winter Gibson (daughter); London Gibson (daughter); 2 grandchildren; Nicko Gibson (son); Shantal Gibson (daughter); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved and regarded himself as a father to Joshua Reetz; Jessica Reetz Grisby, and Monique Reetz Davis.

Byron was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gibson Senior and a brother, Laird Gibson.

A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday December 31st at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Rev. Hae Myong Lee, Pastor of Peace Baptist Church will be officiating.

The service will be a casual dress, and New York Giants gear and colors are welcomed. He has chosen cremation, funeral arrangements are being handled by his beloved family and Evergreen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be sent to The American Cancer Society in memory of Byron Gibson.
